Looking after your pet in Dénia

Between Montgó mountain and the sea, Dénia has two fenced dog parks, Torrecremada (about 1,637 m²) and La Pedrera (1,275 m²), both split by dog size, plus the Vía Verde greenway and Montgó Natural Park for walks. In winter the beaches open up: Bovetes, Almadrava and others in Les Marines admit dogs on a lead from November to February. Leishmaniosis, transmitted by sand flies, is the health risk to watch, so use repellents, ask about vaccination and test yearly.

From 1 June to 31 October dogs are banned from every beach and cove in Dénia, except assistance and rescue dogs. Your pet must be on the RIVIA register, with rabies vaccination and echinococcosis worming at least yearly. Petplan pet insurance in Dénia lets you choose any vet practice, in Les Marines, Les Rotes or Baix la Mar: you pay the bill and we refund 100% of covered costs, minus a fixed €45 co-pay.
