Origin and history of the Cesky Fousek
Also called the Bohemian Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, it is a rare hunting breed from the Czech Republic. The first mention of a close ancestor dates from 1348, under the name «canis boehmicus» (Bohemian hunting dog). The FCI recognised it as a pure breed in 1964. It is hard-working, intelligent and easy to train; it loves children and gets along with other animals, though it may be suspicious of strangers.
