What makes the price vary?
How many areas of the body need scanning, whether contrast is required and whether tests are needed before sedation. Clinics with CT are usually referral hospitals, reached through your regular vet.
How much does Petplan cover?
Petplan Spain reimburses 100% of the invoice up to €3,100 a year, with a €45 co-payment per illness or accident, at the vet of your choice. It does not cover pre-existing conditions or preventive care, and there are waiting periods of 15 days for accidents and 30 days for illness.
The policy includes examinations and diagnostic procedures within veterinary treatment.

It has to stay completely still during the scan. At this hospital sedation is already included in the price.

CT is better for bone, lungs and many tumours; MRI for the brain and spinal cord. Your vet decides depending on the case.
