The Taigan is an ancient sighthound breed from the mountainous parts of Kyrgyzstan, in the Tien Shan region. Bred to hunt by sight at altitudes of up to 4,000 metres, it can chase quarry from fox and badger to ibex and wolf. Hardy in extreme weather and very fast, it combines the elegance and gentle nature of sighthounds with notable intelligence and devotion to its family.
