The Schwyz Hound (Schwyzer Laufhund) is one of the four varieties of the Swiss Hound, taking its name from the town of Schwyz. It is a medium-sized scenthound bred to hunt hare, fox and roe deer in Alpine terrain. It has an excellent nose and great agility, and away from the hunt it is an even-tempered dog, very devoted and attached to its family.
