Origin and history of the Alaskan Klee Kai
In the 1970s, breeder Linda Spurlin set out to reproduce a small Alaskan Husky she fell in love with, crossing Alaskan Huskies with small Nordic breeds such as the Schipperke and the American Eskimo Dog. She set a strict standard and began selling puppies to the public in 1987. Its name comes from the Inuit term for «little dog». It is energetic and affectionate but somewhat aloof with strangers.
