Origin and history of the Posavac Hound
A trailing scent hound from the Sava river valley region of Croatia, developed several centuries ago; there are 15th-century frescoes with very similar dogs. The FCI recognised it in 1955 as the «Kras-Posavac Basin Hound» and today it is known as the Posavac Hound. With a fine nose, it is good with children, affectionate with its family, obedient and a good watchdog.
