What happens in the most common situations

A broken leg

Real case, €2,380 bill: with Petplan you pay €45; with Línea Directa, €1,380.

Ear infection, dermatitis or diarrhoea

These are illnesses. Petplan pays for them; Línea Directa does not pay for the treatment.

Your pet eats something toxic

Línea Directa excludes poisoning. With Petplan, it's reimbursed like any other accident.

An emergency on a Sunday

With Petplan you go straight to your vet. With Línea Directa you must call their tele-vet service first, unless your pet's life is at risk.

When might Línea Directa suit you?

So you can decide with all the facts:

  • If what you mainly want is third-party liability at a good price.
  • If your pet is between 7 and 15 years old: Petplan does not accept new pets aged 7 or over.
  • If you don't mind the price compulsorily including cover for consultations and vaccines, and you don't mind having to use a limited network of clinics, choose Línea Directa. If you'd rather pay for vaccine cover only when you want it and stay with the vet you've always used, choose Petplan.

If what worries you is your pet falling ill or having an expensive accident, Línea Directa won't cover that bill. Petplan will.
